His eyes stapped open, sharp and impatient. "Didn't you look at the marriage certificate!" She hadn't paid attention to something like his birthday.
"I'll check it now," she said quickly Before he could respond, Shirley scrambled out of bed and rushed out of the room. A couple of minutes later, she was back, her soft, cheerful voice filling the air- "Benjamin, your birthday is on the 1st of January?"- He replied flatly, "Yeah." What a perfect day to be born! No wonder you're so successful. Even your birthday's ahead of everyone else's. You were destined to be someone great!" Shirley pushed.
