Chapter 236 Making a Fool of Themselves "Isabel, don't look down on us! The Zimmermans have been a part of Solaria for years. We're an established aristocratic family and fully qualified to collaborate with I.Z. Corporation!" Lillian snapped back. Her response sounded ridiculous to Isabel.

"Stop wasting your breath on her. Unlike us, she and her brother have all the tin the world to idle away. For us, every minute counts as money," Colin interjected coldly.

He no longer regarded Isabel as his daughter. To him, his only child was Lillian, the adopted daughter he took pride in.

This daughter was everything Isabel wasn't-obedient, understanding, and a source of honor.

Colin averted his gaze from Isabel, uninterested in her presence. He turned to Lillian and instructed, "I brought you here so you could use your charm and reputation to secure this deal." Upon hearing that, Isabel immediately understood. Colin wanted Lillian to seduce I.Z. Corporation's owner.

If they later discovered that the person Lillian was supposed to charm turned out to be Colin's estranged son, their reactions would undoubtedly be priceless.

Colin likely never imagined that the owner of I.Z. Corporation, whom he was so eager to please, was the very son he had cast aside.

Carrying her lunchbox, Isabel left the parking garage and entered the building. Just as she approached the entrance, she heard Lillian's mocking voice.

"I was wondering why she'd show up here. At first, I thought she worked for I.Z. Corporation, but it turns out she's just delivering food." Isabel glanced at Lillian and then down at the lunchbox in her hand. It did resemble something a delivery worker might carry.

She recalled a similar incident at Bennett Group, where she had delivered food to Xander and faced humiliation from a receptionist who mistook her for a delivery girl. Ignoring their taunts, Isabel headed toward the elevator, choosing the VIP one instead of the standard option.

"Dad, look at what Isabel's doing!" Lillian said, tugging at Colin's sleeve.

He turned to see Isabel scanning her fingerprint at the VIP elevator.

"She's just pretending to impress us." Colin scoffed. "There's no way someone like her could-" Before he could finish, the scanner accepted Isabel's fingerprint. The doors opened, and she stepped inside. Both Colin and Lillian were dumbfounded. How could Isabel, someone they dismissed as insignificant, have access to the VIP elevator? "Dad, what's going on?" Lillian asked, her voice filled with confusion.

Colin frowned, clearly wanting answers as much as his daughter did.

At that moment, the receptionist received a reply from the main office.

"Hello, Mr. Zimmerman has approved your visit. You may head upstairs," she informed them.

Both Colin and Lillian were momentarily taken aback. It surprised them to learn that the owner of I.Z. Corporation shared their surname.

Colin's mood instantly brightened.

Before they came, he had worried about how to approach the company's owner. Who would've thought they might have a familial connection? Perhaps their ancestors were linked somehow. "Follow me," the receptionist said as she guided them to the ordinary elevator.

When they arrived, Lillian couldn't help but question, "Why aren't we using the VIP elevator?" The receptionist responded politely, "The VIP elevator is reserved exclusively for Mr. Zimmerman and his family." Both Lillian and Colin froze in shock.

Their minds immediately leaped to the assumption that Isabel had somehow managed to cozy up to the owner of I.Z. Corporation before them.

They concluded that Isabel was throwing away her pride and reputation just to climb the social ladder! Colin's face burned with shat having a daughter like her, while Lillian's expression was equally unpleasant. Lillian had spent the entire morning preparing-carefully applying dress bought by the makeup and donning an exp Zimmermans-all in hopes of making a good impression on the I.Z Corporation's owner. Yet, Isabel had already taken the lead. Hmph! So what? Lillian saw herself as a rising star and dismissed Isabel as someone who only had looks but no depth. She couldn't accept the idea that Isabel might be better than her at charming a man.

She had already decided to discreetly imply to the owner of I.Z. Corporation that Isabel was having an affair with someone else outside the company.

Knowing that men were particularly sensitive about infidelity, Lillian eagerly anticipated Isabel's downfall and removal from the workplace.

The elevator soon arrived, and the doors slid open.

"This is Mr. Zimmerman's office. He's waiting for you," the receptionist informed them before leaving.

Colin adjusted his collar, and Lillian quickly fixed her appearance, removing her mask. She was confident that her falone would make her stand out to the owner of I.Z. Corporation. "Let's go," Colin said to her, pushing the door open. They entered one after the other.

Inside, the first thing they noticed was Isabel, busy unpacking lunch boxes.

Isabel cast a glance at them, smiling faintly. She finished unpacking the lunch boxes and calmly began arranging the utensils.

Colin and Lillian's attention shifted to the food on the table. The dishes looked both elaborate and mouthwatering.

Did Isabel prepare all of those herself? They couldn't recall Isabel ever being skilled in cooking and speculated that she might have learned it as part of her strategy to charm influential men.

In their minds, it was just another example of Isabel using questionable methods to climb the ranks. The more they thought about it, the greater their disdain for her grew. Moments later, their focus moved from Isabel to the figure seated at the desk with his back turned toward them. That person was likely the owner of I.Z. Corporation. From what they could see, he didn't appear to be old.

Lillian felt a surge of excitement. If the owner wasn't selderly man and happened to be good-looking, she was determined to win him over.

If she managed to becthe wife of the owner of I.Z. Corporation, Lillian believed her career in the entertainment industry would flourish, and her popularity would soar to new heights.

Colin shared a similar vision. He imagined that if Lillian married the company's owner, backed by Miracle Healer, it would elevate the Zimmermans to a position of power and influence. Picturing the possibility, Colin stared at the figure seated in the chair. He couldn't help but see the company's owner as a potential son-in-law.

Both Colin and Lillian let their imaginations run wild, their faces lighting up with anticipation, as though their dreams had already ctrue.

"Mr. Zimmerman, I'm the chairman and general manager of Zimmerman Group. I'm here to discuss the possibility of working together," Colin declared confidently. As soon as he finished speaking, the person on the chair turned around.
