Chapter 0694
"Forget it, just go. I'll call Desmond later. If he's not available, I'l manage on my own. Even if the weather's
freezing and | catch a cold, so be it."
Suzy chuckled. "Dylan, I'm curious-who taught you this art of emotional manipulation? You never used to be like
this. Did you hire a private tutor?"
"Are you saying I'm deliberately pretending to be pitiful in front of you?" Dylan's lips curved into a bitter smile.
"Would it even work? Would you pity me?"
Not waiting for her response, Dylan continued, "You wouldn't. If you did, you wouldn't have found another
woman forwhen | was drugged.
"Knowing full well that you'd never pity me, why would | waste my tdoing something so pointless?"
Suzy smiled faintly. "Since you already know it's pointless, stop wasting your energy. Whether you change your
pants yourself, call Desmond, or find someone else, it's entirely up to you.
"Letmake this clear one last time, Dylan: there's no chance for us. Like you just said, if | wanted to get back

"That should've made my stance crystal clear, so stop wasting both our time." With that, Suzy turned and left
without a second thought.
Dylan's fists clenched tightly as he watched her leave. "You're ruthless, woman."
He had gone to great lengths today, scheming with Desmond to trick her into coming here, even trying every
possible tactic to create a spark between them. Yet, she...
He'd tried everything he shouldn't have and she only drifted further away. All he wanted was to be with her.
Why was it so impossible?
"Suzy, what am | supposed to do with you?"
Outside, Suzy suppressed the emotions stirring in her chest and let out a bitter laugh. "I shouldn't have come
here today."
Leaving Bayview Heights, she didn't return to Hillside Villa.
Instead, she asked Allen for Vivian's address.
She needed to see if there were any clues Allen might have missed.
Following Allen's directions, Suzy arrived at Vivian's home-a small apartment in an old neighborhood that was far
from affluent.
Vivian lived on the sixth floor of a building with no elevator. Suzy climbed the stairs herself.
Suzy felt a little out of breath by the tshe reached the sixth floor. She couldn't help but wonder-was she
really that out of shape lately?
It was just six flights of stairs, yet she felt unusually tired. This had never happened before.
She knocked on the door for a long time, but no one answered. Allen said Vivian should be home.
Was she deliberately not answering, or was something else going on?
After glancing around to make sure no one was nearby, Suzy pulled out a silver needle and deftly unlocked the
door.
Standing at the entrance, she peered inside. The living room was empty.
Frowning slightly, she stepped in.
One of the bedroom doors was ajar, and through the gap, she spotted a middle- aged woman lying in a pool of
blood.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmHer brows furrowed as she pushed the door open and approached the figure. Squatting down beside Vivian, Suzy
carefully examined her condition.
A knife was lodged in Vivian's stomach, but it wasn't the fatal wound-her vital organs hadn't been hit.
As Suzy was about to check if there were other injuries, a man around her age suddenly burst into the room.
His face was contorted with rage as he pointed at her and roared, "You killed my mom!"
Suzy was speechless.
