Chapter 87
Estelle pushed the door open, and the study was huge. Right in front of her was a large floor–to-ceiling
window, through which she could see the lawn in the yard. Jonathan’s desk was next to the window,
and opposite it was a whole row of towering red wooden bookshelves.
At this moment, Jonathan was sitting behind his desk reading some documents. He turned his head
and saw Estelle, his eyes looking a bit surprised, as if he didn’t. expect her to come and find him.
He was wearing the same black shirt as when they left the house together in the morning. The collar
was undone by two buttons, giving off a cold and lazy vibe. “Mr. Lamont.” Estelle closed the door,
stepped forward, and put the test paper on the table, “This is Henson’s monthly quiz. Please have a
look.”
Jonathan picked it up, looked at both sides, and nodded, “Not bad. He’s doing well, and you’re teaching
well too”
“Thank you for your compliment Estelle smiled lightly and handed him the watch box. “This is for you
from Henson.”
“What is it?” Jonathan took it and casually opened the box
The moment the wooden box was opened, Estelle saw a black thing jump out and pounce towards
Jonathan’s face. With its bloodied fangs and weird cries, it was even scarier than the monsters she had
seen in the horror movie the night before.
Her eyes widened, and without thinking, she rushed over to try and grab it.
Jonathan was also startled and tried to throw the box away, but he noticed black smoke coming out of
the monster’s mouth. His face slightly changed, and he threw the box away while pulling Estelle into his
arms.
Estelle was resting on his chest, her heart pounding. She turned to look at the box, and saw the black–
faced monster still laughing. The black smoke, however, had dissipated
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThere were three seconds of silence in the room, with only the laughter of the black–faced monster
Now the laughter seemed less scary, but some comical and nidiculous.
Estelle was still lying in the man’s arms, their heartbeats merging and rhythm disrupted. It’s hard to tell
whose heartbeat was faster.
The laughter from the box finally stopped Estelle was about to get up, but Jonathan suddenly pinched
her chin.
“I’m starting to suspect that you’re holding a grudge against me and that’s why you’re messing with me
like this all the time”
Estelle raised her head with her eyes innocent, “Would you believe me if I said I was tricked by
Henson?”
Their eyes met, just inches apart. Jonathan’s dark eyes and the slight smile on his lips, “Not on
purpose?”
“Of course not!” Estelle exclaimed, then muttered quietly. “Why would I want to harm myself?”
Jonathan stared into her eyes, leaned closer, and whispered, “So you don’t have any problems with
me?
Estelle’s face grew hot, and she looked down, “No.”
“Since it’s all for fun, we should communicate any issues immediately, right?” He said in a deep, lazy
voice, with a hint of a smile.
“Really, there’s nothing!” Estelle emphasized. She looked up and met his smiling eyes and realized
what she said. Her face turned beet red, and her fingertips.
tingled
“Til come over tonight” He whispered, pinched her chin, and leaned down for a kiss.
His kiss was light, barely touching her lips. Like a patient fisherman, he kept using bait to entice Estelle
to open her mouth before capturing the little pink fish.
Estelle closed her eyes and basked in the indescribable comfort and joy.
Even if this wasnt an intimate moment between lovers, it still felt wonderful.
So, whenever she kissed him, Estelle would always have a delusion of being deeply loved by him. It
took her a long time to come back to reality from this delusion.
After the deep kiss, she rested on his shoulder, breathing softly The sunlight came through the bright
window and fell on her face, making her look dazed and unwilling to get up, thinking that the embrace
truly belonged to her
Jonathan held her waist, waiting for her to calm down
Estelle took a deep breath, and her gaze gradually cleared. She needed to leave, not wanting anyone
to suspect anything
Jonathan slightly lowered his head, his voice lazy and magnetic, “I have something to do tonight, so I’ll
be a bit late Wait for me”
Her heart had just calmed down, but now it raced again She couldn’t stay any longer She nodded, got
up, and walked straight towards the door without looking at
him
As the stepped out. Estelle instinctively raised her hand to touch her lips, trying to hide the traces of the
kiss
A maid led Lucile up to the third floor only to see Estelle standing by the study door Lucille’s face
suddenly darkened
She looked at Estelle wardy her brow furrowed “What are you doing here?”
Estelles expression returned to normal answering calmly I came to give Mr Lamont Henson’s test
papers
Lucilles expression softened slightly and she nodded, if theres nothing else please don’t come to the
third floor*
Estelle chuckled Tm afraid its not up to you to decide Ms Hammer”
Lucille eyes widened as the watched Estalle walk in front of her and then Lucite face took on a cynical
and somber expression
Estelle returned to Henson’s room, without saying a word. She began to pack up her things

her books
“Fired?” Henson’s eyes widened He went to stop stelle and said urgently. “That’s impossible! Didnt you
tell him it was me who told you to come?”
Estelle lowered her eyes, “I told him, he didn’t believe me.”
Henson frowned, “Don’t go. I’ll talk to my uncle and tell him it was my fault for playing with you. It has
nothing to do with you.”
Estelle’s face remained tense, “No need, you don’t like me anyway, and now that he fired me, didn’t
you get what you wished for?”
“Who says I don’t like you? I was just playing a prank on you, I’m serious!” Henson became more
frantic, “Hold on, I’ll go find my uncle and explain everything”
He turned around and hurried towards the door, but as soon as he reached it, he heard Estelle burst
into laughing behind him.
He looked back to see Estelle sitting in a chair, holding back her laughter. He quickly realized what was
happening, and his face darkened as he tried to tickle Estelle.
Estelle dodged, “It was you who tricked me first!”
Henson gritted his teeth, “Who said that teachers should set an example and never lie?”
Estelle laughed, “I said I wouldn’t lie to your uncle.”
“I knew it, you’re biased towards my uncle.”
“Well, he pays me, so of course I’m biased towards him.”
Henson blurted out, “You’re not just biased, you like him!”
Estelle raised her eyebrows smugly, “Yeah, I like him, so what?”
After she said that, the door suddenly opened, and the man standing at the door looked at her, his eyes
deep and mysterious
