Chapter 372
Beatrice might not be the most gifted actress, but she knew drama off-screen. Hamish was already weary of her
antics. So when she complained, he tersely responded, “Mamie’s a star with top-tier acting, and she makes
mistakes too. Learn from her, instead of playing the victim”
Beatrice was fuming at his words, her expression stormy. Yet Hamish noticed Mamie’s deliberate provocations. He
sharply told Mamie, “Enough games, Mamie Focus on the job”
Mamie smirked, “Understood, Hamish.”
Beatrice felt a brief relief, thinking Mamie would back off. But she had underestimated Mamie’s stubborn streak. A
simple slap scene went on for twenty retakes, with Mamie’s slap growing harsher each time. Beatrice’s face began
to swell, and Mamie showed no signs of holding back.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtOn a break, a distraught Beatrice confronted Mamie, “What did I ever do to you, Mamie, to deserve this?”
Mamie leaned in with a sly smile. “What makes you think you’re innocent in my eyes?”
“You may be a star, but that doesn’t give you the right to bully others! I could go to the media,” Beatrice retorted.
Mamie laughed, “And tell them what? That I’m a bully? That’s already my brand. you try to expose me, you’ll look
like you’re just trying to gain fame through me. Be my guest”
Beatrice’s heart sank. Mamie was right. There were celebrities who seemed immune to scandals, with loyal fans
defending their every move. Mamie was one such untouchable icon.
Fighting back tears, Beatrice pleaded, “What do you want for this to stop?”
Mamie pondered for a moment. “How about you leave the show? If not, trust me, I can find countless ways to make
your life hell”
The weight of the decision pressed on Beatrice. Getting a role in Hamish’s project had been a dream come true. As
a newcomer, this was her golden ticket, and her peers envied her for it. Walking away would make her the subject
of ridicule. But how much more could she endure from Mamie?
Plus, after this show, her value would skyrocket compared to ordinary film school students.
No way she’s giving up.
Beatrice gritted her teeth, “I won’t quit. I don’t believe you can do whatever you want on set”
“I certainly can. Not just on set, but throughout the whole entertainment industry” Mamie arrogantly answered,
“Can’t stand it? Well, suck it up.”
At this point, the director called for the next take
Still no pass.
Even the director started to persuade her, but Mamie didn’t let go.
Everyone on set started to sympathize with Beatrice, but no one dared to intervene.

Mamie, others on set were less sympathetic. They had grown tired of her constant bragging about being Preston
Pritchard’s daughter, using her father’s name to land roles and then acting as though she’d eamed her place
amongst the stars.
Watching Mamie bring her down a peg or two, many felt a pang of schadenfreude.
Agnes wasn’t due on set that day, but someone else was observing the drama unfold Mamie was known for her no-
holds-barred approach.
Her ruthlessness was evident during the filming of ‘Cinderella’, and now it was clear that her vendetta against
Beatrice ran deep.
The observer recalled how Beatrice had plotted against him, attempting to sabotage him with drugs. The plan
backfired, and Mamie became the unintended victim. That incident was the likely genesis of Mamie’s animosity. It
wasn’t just an on-set rivalry, it was personal
