The two of them, Judy and Lumma, were clinging to each other, completely absorbed in their own world, making
Adam feel like an outsider.
Judy genuinely liked Lumma, so she was overjoyed when Lumma agreed to stay. “Lumma, let’s go eat. Crying like
that only made me even hungrier.”
Lumma couldn’t resist the teasing from this charming young girl and gently ruffled her hair. “Alright, let’s go eat.”
Hand in hand, they walked ahead, completely disregarding Adam trailing behind. Adam figured that if he didn’t join
them for the meal, those two would probably forget about his existence.
It came as no surprise to Adam that Judy adored Lumma. Lumma was, as Judy had said, such a delightful girl that

What intrigued Adam, however, was Lumma herself. Having been hurt in the past, she found it difficult to form
deep connections with others, yet Judy, this young girl, effortlessly managed to open Lumma’s heart.
Obviously, he had known Lumma longer and spent more time together, yet Lumma avoided him like the plague in
her life.
Was Adam lacking the same charm as Judy?
Perplexed, Adam shook his head and decided to follow their lead.
Marie and the chef prepared a table full of dishes together. They had chicken wings, shrimp pancakes, beef stir-fry,
and more. All the dishes were spicy, and there wasn’t a single dish that Adam would normally enjoy.
Observing the scene, Judy peeked into the kitchen. “Marie, did you make a mistake with the dishes? Is there
anything on this table that Adam can eat?”
Marie replied with a cheerful smile, “Adam’s wife is from Soothy City, and he has been learning to eat Soothy City
cuisine recently. He’s been eating it for quite some time now.”
Marie’s happiness stemmed from Adam’s request for her to redecorate the house, as Adam informed her that his
wife would be returning home soon.
The room on the second floor was personally arranged by Adam, with everything inside replaced and a wardrobe
full of new clothes. Marie was a little puzzled. Why did Adam let Lumma stay there fast night when he had prepared
the room for his wife?
Judy gave
“Adam, you’re willing to eat spicy food for your wife?” Judy gave Adam a thumbs “I used to think you were clueless

Adam stated heavily, “Less chatter at the dinner table.”
Lumma glanced at Adam with concern. Despite his stomach issues, he insisted on eating spicy food daily to
accommodate his wife’s dietary preferences. He truly went to great lengths.
Nevertheless, Lumma believed that loving someone meant caring for them, looking after them, respecting them,
and treating them well. She didn’t think it was necessary to joke about one’s own physical well-being.
While such thoughts filled her mind, Lumma knew better than to voice them aloud. After all, she was only Adam’s
assistant, and it was not her place to interfere in his relationship with his wife
