Bradley said indifferently, “Place it down.”

Sally obediently set the box on the table.

Bradley glanced at Esther, smiled wickedly, and beckoned, “Esther, come here and open your gift.”

Esther clutched the rifle and wondered why he had a gift for her.

As Bradley began counting, “One, two…”

Before he could reach three, Esther approached and casually discarded the rifle.

The pink box was beautifully wrapped, but an unexplainable urge to flee washed over her as she gazed at it.

“Open it,” Bradley coldly instructed.

Esther shivered inexplicably but proceeded to unwrap the gift. The pink bow, perhaps due to it being a gift, was

elegantly tied and easy to undo.

A gentle tug on one corner of the pink satin bow, and it came apart effortlessly.

Inside, she found a severed hand, covered in blood.

Upon seeing the gruesome sight, Esther’s legs gave way, and she collapsed. It felt as though her eyes were

deceiving her. She glanced at the hand, nearly the size of Sunshine’s, and tears welled up.

In shock, she finally found her voice, her lips quivering. “Whose hand is this?”

Bradley didn’t answer her question but instead asked with a faint smile, “Esther, do you like this gift?”

Esther briefly glanced at the severed hand, which made her heart race.

“Bradley! Are you even human? How could you… How could you?” Esther felt drained of all her strength. The idea

that Bradley had brought her a severed hand as a gift was unfathomable.

Whose hand was it?

“Bradley!” Esther attempted to stand, but she was too weak and fell repeatedly.

Bradley sat before her, leaning against the chair’s armrest. His eyes filled with mockery as he witnessed Esther’s

breakdown, despair, and helplessness.

“Esther,” he said with a hint of bloodlust in his eyes. He took a deep drag from his cigar, exhaling the smoke in her

face, and casually wiped away her tears. “Has anyone ever told you that you look incredibly beautiful when you

cry?”

Esther looked at Bradley through teary eyes. In a feeble murmur, she said, “Bradley, if you hate me, if you resent

that I insisted on marrying you and feel that I’ve ruined your life, then come after me! Imprison me, destroy me,

even kill me—it’s your choice. But why… Why would you harm my children? T-They’re your children too!”

Bradley leaned closer, his eyes locked onto Esther’s teary gaze. He enjoyed she saw only him at that moment,

among all the people in the world.

“Open your mouth!” Bradley ordered.

Esther no longer had the strength to resist and opened her mouth.

Bradley picked up the severed hand and shoved it into her mouth…
