window. "It's still early. I can't sleep just yet."

eluded Nicole.
Jared sat down beside Nicole and gently massaged her temples, speaking softly, "Missing Nolan and
Lana?"
"Yeah," she admitted softly, her thoughts still with Nolan and
Lana.
"The kids are in good hands back home. We'll take care of our business here quickly and return to
them," Jared reassured her, his voice a soothing balm.
"I know," Nicole murmured, biting her lip, her maternal instincts keeping her mind tethered to her
children even in this distant place.
