Chapter 288 "Being lucky counts," Noelle remarked before turning to leave.
Donovan seethed. "I shouldn't have been here today!" Xenia, however, felt a flicker of joy. "It's my fault for telling you this, Donovan. I thought by coming to school, you could make up with Noelle, and we could all live together as a family again like before. But who would've thought Noelle wouldn't appreciate what you did for her?" "How can you say that? It's not that Noelle is ungrateful, but she clearly would've done well even without us." Lucas frowned. There was a subtle undertone in Xenia's words that made him oddly uncomfortable.
Xenia carefully asked, "Did I perhaps say the wrong thing again, Lucas?" Dono interjected, "It's not your fault, Xeiva. Noelle's bad temper will catch up to her one day, and I'll wait to see how she handles it then!" Xenia lowered her head pitifully. "I shouldn't meddle from now on, or others might takeas scheming." Donovan turned to shoot Lucas a look. "What's with you? Stop acting like Frank." Lucas felt utterly wronged. He hadn't said anything wrong about Xenia's words being inappropriate either. Why did everything suddenly feel like his fault? As he watched Xenia help Donovan leave, his mood soured.

After leaving the classroom building, Noelle headed to the gym to practice boxing.
She changed into her workout clothes as a thought crossed her mind. Then, she pulled out her phone and texted Xenia. "Don't forget what you promised me!" It wasn't over yet.
Xenia had just gotten into the car when she received the text. Her heart skipped a beat at the message, and she hastily deleted it. Her heart thumped in guilt.
After thinking briefly, she turned to Donovan and asked, "Donovan, you invested in Frank's Al project, didn't you? Can I learn more about it?" "Why would you want to learn about that?" "I'm in business, after all. I don't want to be clueless and know nothing; I want to help you." Donovan nodded in approval. "You're much more sensible and better than that ungrateful child." Xenia's smile stiffened slightly, and she said nothing more.
After sending the text, Noelle threw herself into her boxing practice.
She took quite a beating during her session and returned to her apartment afterward. It was the weekend, and she didn't have classes.
She had to prepare for her livestream, which she'd skipped last week. But when she started the livestream, she immediately noticed something off about the comments in her chat.

"How could you be so evil? You toyed with Samuel's feelings and dumped him afterward." "Samuel confessed to you in the afternoon, and he was already in your dorm by the evening. That's fast progress!" Reading comments from trolls, Noelle figured this might be the Merlock family's artwork in trying to smear her nand slut-shher.
She turned on the microphone and said, "Samuel is just a piece of trash who uses his position as captain to prey on young women. He's filmed and taken pictures of countless of them for blackmail, and I'm not that blind to fall for someone like him!"
The comments fought back. "You're accusing Samuel of all this, but there hasn't been any evidence or videos and pictures of any sort. You're just trying to smear his name!" "Exactly! If he did that, where's the proof? Show us!" "A typical streamer like you makes money by sleeping with men. I'm guessing you couldn't agree on a price with Samuel."
Noelle's tone turned icy. "Listen up, trolls. You can criticizeall youn want, but those videos and pictures are a death sentence for the victims. They're weapons to destroy lives. "And who the hell do you think you are, demanding to see evidence? How did your moms give birth to brainless creatures like you?" Another troll snapped. "You're all talk. If you can't show evidence, you're lying!"
