What the hell? Did Brad just... admit to something? Was she hearing things, or was this man up to something else? There was no way this was the Brad she knew. The man she knew was aloof, cold, and arrogant. He would never, under any circumstances, bare his feelings so openly.
When Nadine didn't respond-her gaze cast downward, avoiding his-Brad decided he was done pretending. He closed the gap between them until they were practically toe-to-toe.
Grasping her slender shoulders, he said, "You heard me! I want to stay here. I want to be as close to you and Sean as possible! Deal with it!" Nadine hurriedly took a step back, breaking free, of his grasp, her eyes wide with shock. "We're not together, Brad. There's a huge difference in how men and women are treated when things like this happen. Please don't ruin my reputation-I still intend to get remarried!" Turth Love had hurt her deeply, but she still believed in it. Nadine believed there would ca day when someone would see her at her worst and stil choose to stay st who would accept her, hold hand, and walk with her into the future. However, that person would never be Brad.

Brad felt as if she had just dropped a bombshell on him. The moment she said she was getting married tom someone else, all of his repressed anger erupted.
