Chapter 1576

"No, of course not!" Stefan immediately covered Renee's lips. "Shush... Don't say such

things. If our baby hears that, he or she may hate me, and that would be unfair for me."

"What? The baby is just a small cell that can't even be seen at this point, of course it can't

hear us." Amused, Renee moved his hand away, feeling relieved at his joy. Of course she

had been worried - she was blind, and Stefan was busy gaining a firm foothold in Hunt

Enterprise. Besides, they had Adie and Abby. Even if Margaret, Leia, and the others were

around, it would still be quite exhausting. If they had another child now, their life would be

more chaotic.

"I'm serious, darling. I can get rid of it if you think it's not the right time for us to have

another child." Leaning into Stefan's arms, Renee said sadly, "We can have another child

in the future; I don't want to see our lives get too chaotic, and I don't want to see you

stressed." It was already tough taking care of a blind person, and if that person was

pregnant, it would be even more troublesome.

"Why do you think this child will make our lives busy?" Hugging Renee, Stefan sounded

gentle and patient as he said, "Don't you think this child's arrival will give us the hope to

move forward? I wanted to give up on my responsibilities before this, but I feel more

motivated now. I found my reason to fight!"

"What? It's just stress..." A long sigh escaped Renee, and she

murmured sympathetically, "Well, you like to shoulder everything on your own even

though you can't."

"Silly, your husband can do that. Don't worry, I can handle any amount of stress. At most,

we'll just have to hire a few more servants. I'm rich, so it doesn't matter anyway." Stefan

tried to console Renee. He felt that most problems could be solved with money. With

another child in the picture, they might just have a few more tasks to do, and that could

be settled if he hired more helpers.

"It's not that easy to hire servants sometimes," Renee muttered. Tess' incident warned her

that outsiders were unreliable regardless of their morals and principles. If she wanted to

give birth to the child, she and Stefan had to do a lot of things on their own... She felt a

little worried when she recalled the challenging task of raising Adie and Abby in the past,

but she would conquer all difficulties to give birth to that child since Stefan wanted to

have it.

"But..." Anxiety overwhelmed Stefan when he recalled his conversation with Jovan that

night, and he tightened his grip around Renee's hand. "I hope that you'll always take my

side no matter what happens. I hope that I'll always be your first choice."

His words made Renee frown, and as an observant and sensitive person, she quickly noted

the exhaustion and heaviness in his tone. She figured he must have encountered some

trouble. "Is there something troubling you? Do you want to talk about it?" Renee asked

directly. After going through so many things together, she had realized how important

communication was for the both of them.
