Chapter 1021: Dalores immediately shook her head. “No, I'm fine. I don't need to be examined.” "I'm afraid that decision is not yours to make. You need to make sure that you're in good health, Dalores. Not only physically, but mentally as well. Do it for Emerson." Eileen spoke in a tone that brooked no argument. "The caregiver will bring you your lunch later. You should eat with Emerson. I'll be back to keep you company during your check-up this afternoon." Bryan had already booked a table at a nearby restaurant. After giving the caregiver a few reminders, Eileen grabbed her purse and left the hospital.
The restaurant was crowded, but there was one particular patron who stood out. It was a man sitting at a table by the windows on the second floor.
Eileen walked up the stairs and pulled the chair across from him. She hadn't even sat down when Bryan handed her a fork.

Eileen settled into her seat and began to eat. "What if the results of Dalores' check-up aren't any good?" she said after a while. "What should I tell Julio?" Bryan didn't even raise his head. "You aren't beholden to him in any way. You can just relay the whole thing to him. Why are you so worried?" Eileen nodded in relief. "You're right." Eileen's doctor had advised her to steer clear of stress, as it would only worsen her stomach's condition. Bryan was doing his part by easing her burdens as much as he could and trying to lighten her mood.
Leyla had been complaining about Gabriela. Apparently, the girl was missing her parents so much that she refused to go inside. Instead, she dragged Leyla to sit in the yard and bask in the sun all day long.
"I'm telling you, I've got sunburn now!" Leyla grumbled in her voice message to Eileen.
Eileen couldn't help but laugh when she heard this. She carefully composed a reply and failed to notice a familiar figure standing in a corner not too far away.
Yesterday, Jaliyah had mentioned to Kamila that she had spotted Eileen at the hospital.
Kamila returned upstairs and spent a good deal of tthinking. The next morning, she called Jaliyah and instructed her to go back to the hospital, track down Eileen's doctor, and figure out a way to make Eileen lose the baby.
Jaliyah had a lunch appointment with a gynecologist she knew. She accidentally ran into both Eileen and Bryan while having lunch.

"Isn't it obvious she's pregnant? What more do I need to confirm?" Jaliyah muttered to herself quickly snapping two photos. Suddenly, she felt a hand on her shoulder, causing her to jump in surprise.
She turned to see the doctor approaching and sighed in relief.
m "Miranda, you nearly gavea heart attack: Tell me, has this woman made an appointment in your department?"
Miranda Wagner glanced at the photo, first shaking her head, then nodding. "No, she's not my patient, but she has been to the obstetrics and gynecology department. Just today, I saw her lugging a bunch of things up to the VIP suite on the top floor. I tried asking the department head about it, but he was tight-lipped. It seems there's an order from higher up, and everyone in the know is keeping everything under wraps."
