Chapter 1022: Jaliyah slapped her thigh, exclaiming, "That's got to be it! She's definitely pregnant. Maybe she's not confident about carrying the baby to term, so she has been hospitalized." A flood of ideas ran through her mind, but she had no solid proof.

She found a spot to hide and then quietly followed Eileen. Watching as Eileen entered the suite on the top floor, she snapped a photo and immediately sent it to Kamila. "Eileen's pregnant. But the hospital is keeping it a secret. It's going to be tough to bribe her doctor, so we'll need to figure out another way." Kamila didn't waste a second before calling Jaliyah. "It's not entirely impossible to make her lose the baby. We're in Alverton-we are capable of handling someone like her," Kamila said.

"Mom, I just mean doing it quietly is boring. Eileen has caused you a lot of trouble. Don't we deserve to make her pay for it big?" Jaliyah replied. She wasn't acquainted with Eileen, but she believed Eileen had dared to set her sights on the Aston family's wealth, and that was as good as threatening her lifeline! Kamila's tone turned serious. “Don't handle this personally; they will get leverage on you, and we can't afford to get tangled in a mess we can't win. The goal is to push her out of Alverton, not to go to war with her." Jaliyah rolled her eyes but responded, "Yeah, you're right, thinking of the big picture. I'll try and find Eileen's doctor." After the call ended, Jaliyah didn't bother seeking out the doctor. Instead, she headed to Miranda's office, idly playing on her phone with little interest in conversation. Miranda, however, picked up on Jaliyah's curiosity about the VIP patients and kept an eye out. After her rounds, she returned and shared sinformation with Jaliyah in a low voice.

Jaliyah quickly put her phone away and sat up straight. "What do you mean? If she's not pregnant, why is she staying in the department of obstetrics and gynecology?" Miranda shook her head. "That's just what I've heard. I'm not sure of the details, but who said someone can't stay in this department's ward without being pregnant? If one has money, one could almost make anything happen." Before, Bryan had stepped out of the restaurant and walked away without even going into the in- patient building.

Jaliyah had been puzzled as to why Bryan wasn't by Eileen's side if she was really at risk of losing the baby. But now, it was clear that the whole situation didn't add up.

"Why would a man call the way to the hospital and then not stay with his wife in the ward?" Jaliyah asked. Miranda, having seen her fair share of in the hospital, quickly replied, "There are only two reasons. Either he doesn't care, or she's hiding the pregnancy from him. Hospitals are breeding grounds for lies-either the patient knows what's going on and keeps it from their family, or the family hides the truth from the patient."

"Wait, you said she's seeing a psychiatrist this afternoon?” Jaliyah asked, trying to piece things together.

"A psychologist," Miranda corrected.

"That means she has a mental problem! No way. Eileen's too sharp for that. I bet she's hiding something from Bryan and leading him around by the nose," Jaliyah said, her thoughts racing. After racking her brain, she suddenly thought of something. "Could it be that she's hiding the pregnancy from Bryan?"
