Chapter 1224
Going straight over there, Lily saw a rather sizable boutique and walked in.
Its interior design was quaint, and a mild scent of sandalwood filled the air. There were only a few
customers and salespersons, and Lily started to check out the merchandise herself.
Going around the aisles, she saw that most dresses were slim-fit and unsuitable, as they would make
her bulging belly conspicuous.
As she moved around the bend and was about to turn into the next aisle, a salesgirl approached her.
"Would you like to buy a... dress?”
The woman paused halfway when she saw what Lily was wearing.
Those who came here to shop usually wore expensive clothes, and the dresses here were not cheap
as they were of top quality in terms of materials and craftsmanship.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtFor the past two years, wearing branded clothing has been fashionable. Those who did so felt superior
to others and looked down on those who did not.
Lily had always worn simple loungewear to better take care of her son.
Even when she went out, she usually dressed plainly, not to mention that she was here to buy clothes
and took no extra effort to doll herself up.
"Yes, do you have anything that is loose-fitting? Something easy on the eyes and, most importantly,
cozy." Nodding, she told the salesgirl her requirements.
The saleswoman noticed Lily's ponytail and that she didn't have a companion or wear any jewelry. She
concluded that Lily was just looking around without the ability to buy anything.
Her well-drawn lips curled as she said mockingly, "Madam, you might have walked into the wrong
store. You do realize this, Serenus, is a luxury brand? We're as expensive as Louis Vuitton and Gucci!
We have nothing suitable for you."
"Have I asked you about the price?" Lily asked indifferently, not surprised to meet someone like her.
"Madam, it’s just a friendly reminder,” she said impatiently and turned around. "Besides, our dresses
are tailor-made and unsuitable for pregnant women."
No longer wanting to serve Lily, the salesgirl rolled her eyes and muttered," Stay at home if you’re
pregnant. Why are you buying dresses for?”
She said it loudly enough so Lily could hear. Before Lily responded, a soft voice said, "Ma’am, are you
looking for something more loose-fitting?”
Lily turned and saw an innocent-looking young girl in a uniform who looked like an intern. She was a bit
shy, but her smile was friendly.
"Yes, I’m pregnant, so I’d like something not slim-fitting but loose and cozy. Do you have any such
designs in your shop?"
Lily was not trying to make things difficult for them because not all dresses were slim-fitting. She

It's just that the other salesgirl is rather rude.'
"Yes, we do!" The young girl nodded with a smile. "There are several sheath dresses without waistline
seams over there. They should fit you well."
She led Lily over and handed her several dresses for her to choose from.
The salesgirl, who had rolled her eyes, now looked on. ‘The newly joined intern is so naive. I can easily
tell that the woman is just a housewife who has come without the intention of buying anything. So what
if there's anything suitable for her? Can she afford it?’
Leaning against the cashier counter, she looked on smugly as Lily shook her head, seemingly not liking
those designs.
The intern explained, "These are last year's designs, but they are not out of style yet. The prices are
also affordable. Why don't you try them on? They might look plain, but once you wear them-"
"This lady thinks these low-grade dresses are not up to her standard. Jane, show her the Bamboo
Wind dress."
