Chapter 1445
Dominic stood up with a mysterious smile. "Come with me!"
Lily obediently followed behind him, and they walked through the backyard, bypassing a promenade,
and walked to a corner at the back. The place used to be a wasteland, but Dominic had somehow
renovated it and even built a hut.
When Dominic opened the door, the sounds of clucking echoed from the inside.
"Pigeons?!" Lily widened her eyes in surprise.
'When did he get so many pigeons?!’
"They're carrier pigeons!' Dominic corrected her. "These are specially trained carrier pigeons. Don't
underestimate them because of their sizes. These birds can fly very far and know exactly where to go."
Lily was speechless. Then she frowned and asked, "How far can they fly? Can they fly to Burnwken?"
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt"Of course!" He confidently answered, "Besides flying across the Pacific Ocean, my carrier pigeon can
go almost anywhere!"
"Have you tried them?" She was a little suspicious.
"What don’t you try? Do you think I don’t get bored sitting alone the whole day? Do you honestly think I
don't care or know about what's happening outside?" Dominic smacked Lily's head with a fan. "Do you
want me to rot alone here every day?"
Once again, Lily did not know what to say to this older man.
'Well, I misjudged him! I always thought he was only up-to-date with the news because the maids
would overhear them while shopping for him.'
Unexpectedly, Dominic did these things without anyone knowing. Sure enough, he was still as
intelligent as he was back then. A master was a master, after all.
When he noticed Lily's surprise and disbelief, the older man shook his head, smacked his lips, and
walked over to point it out. ’Look at these. Those birds are flying north, while these are flying south. The
rest will fly west."
He introduced the pigeons, row after row. Lily turned to the side and noticed a flock of extra fat pigeons
toward the edge. "What about these? Do they fly to the east?"
"No, no. They don’t." Dominic shook his head. The older man glanced at the pigeons before shaking
his head again.
"Those are..." Before Lily could finish her sentence, the old man quickly interjected, "Those are for
eating."
"What?!"
'It seems like each pigeon has their prewritten destiny.'
"It smells here, so let's get out!' Dominic ushered. He feared the smell might get to her head and
quickly led her out of the pigeon hut.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"So, are you convinced now?" He puffed his chest proudly.
"I am!'
Of course, Lily would be. The older man was something else. She did not expect him to be still using
carrier pigeons.
"Why don't you patiently wait for another two days? I've already sent a pigeon overt© inquire about the
news, but it hasn't gotten back to me yet. Let's wait another two days before you decide whether or not
to go," Dominic suggested.
Dominic had been asking around after discovering the incident with Alexander. He knew Lily was
worried about him, and he did not want his precious apprentice to be sad. On top of that, seeing that
"little devil spawn" without his father was pitiful.
Besides, Dominic was also quite curious about how severe the plague was. Recently, the news said
that it was spreading like wildfire. Regardless of what one did, one would inadvertently get infected.
After years of studying medicinal herbs, Dominic could not help being curious about this epidemic.
Lily pondered for a moment and turned to look at the pigeon hut before hesitantly saying, "Okay...sure!'
