Chapter 1995
The man moved so quickly that Lily instinctively stopped talking. The two stared into each other’s eyes,
trying to figure out what the other was thinking.
The man snorted and dropped his friendly expression before saying dryly," Listen, don't ever try to
learn about things you aren't supposed to."
He walked toward the door without looking back at her.
"I told you RIO isn't 100% complete yet. Even if you use it on me, you won't get the results you hope

She did not know the man, and from her interaction with him, she knew he was not easy to deal with.
She did not know if he had weaknesses, so she could only use RIO as bait. After all, the whole
experiment revolved around it, and she was confident the organization cared about it.
The man stood at the doorway as if hesitating. However, as Lily thought she had swayed him, he left
and shut the door behind him. Lily stared at the closed door and got left alone once again.
’He's so unpredictable that there's no way to tell what he's thinking.'
For the first time, Lily felt powerless standing there.
Alexander sat at his desk on the top floor of La Beaute Group's office building. His laptop, tablet,
phones, piles of files, and various other telecommunication devices covered his desk.
He had not slept for two days since he had to clear his accumulated work and follow up on the updates
his men had gathered. His eyes were bloodshot, and he looked exhausted.
His office phone rang, and he pressed the speakerphone button. Then his secretary's voice sounded,
‘The Public Relations Department and Sales Department have submitted their reports, Mr. Russell. Do
you want me to deliver them to you?"
"Just send me their soft copies. As I said, don’t enter my office for now. Just call me if you need to

"Yes, sir," the secretary answered and hung up.
Alexander had returned to the office for two days, but she had only seen him briefly once-on the day he
returned. She had heard noises inside the office and opened the door to ask if he wanted coffee.
However, he shouted for her to leave the office immediately. The secretary felt Alexander had become
much ruder and was puzzled by why he told her to put the files outside by the door and not enter.
Even so, she could only do as her boss said. She felt Alexander had not gone home for the past few
days. He would be in the office when she left and still be there when she returned the following day.
'Did he fight with his wife?'
Other employees suspected the same thing, thinking he was in a terrible mood because he quarreled
with his wife, which was why he did not go home. Little did they know Alexander was under
tremendous pressure.
