Chapter 924
Lily frowned slightly when Margaret brought up the subject of her parents' untimely deaths on their first meeting, as it was a thorn in her heart.
"All I know is that respect goes both ways. I have no idea who the two of you are, yet you barge in here, expecting me to know how to address you."
"Well, didn't we tell you who we are already?! ' Celine snapped. ‘ Why haven't you greeted US?"
"Yes, you did introduce yourself, but how would I know if it's true?"
"You-" Celine felt that Lily was doing it on purpose, and she was fighting the urge to go up to Lily and slap her in the face.
Margaret raised her hand and said, "Enough. What's the point of playing games? You already know if
I'm telling the truth about being Alex's grandma. I also know who you are. Today, I'm not here to play
along with your games. There's one thing I'd like to tell you. If you want to be a part of the Russell

Hearing this, Lily smiled lightly.
When Margaret saw that Lily was still unmoved and was even smiling, she narrowed her eyes. "Why
are you smiling? Do you not believe me?"
’No, I'm smiling because it seems like you've made a mistake. I have no intentions of being a part of
the Russell family."
"You don't want to marry Alex?’ Margaret asked with some doubts.
"Wanting to marry Alexander has nothing to do with wanting to be a part of the Russell family. If I marry
him, I'm just marrying him. I don't care if I'm accepted into the Russell family, and as for your

approval..." Lily trailed off and let out a laugh. "I'm sorry. I'm really sorry, but I really couldn't care less.
After all, I'm not marrying you."
The entire room fell silent.
Celine was so shocked that this woman was talking to her mother in this way that she was speechless.
Back then, Celine's mother-in-law was also difficult, but with the power of the Russell family behind her,
her mother-in-law had little to say. However, for someone like Lily to say that she wasn't trying to marry
Margaret?! That wasn't the point of this!
Sure enough, Margaret's face turned ugly and was white with fury.
"You’re daring, aren't you? Do you really think I can't do anything about you? Do you think you're
invincible just because my grandson is backing you up?"
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm’This is where you're wrong. I can back myself up. I don't need anyone to be my backbone, nor do I need anyone to tell me what to do. Me being with
Alexander is our choice, and I won't let anyone make that decision for me."
'This woman is very eloquent!' Margaret thought to herself.
She was starting to feel that Lily wasn't as easy to deal with as she had imagined. Rolling her eyes, Margaret said, "You won't get what you want."
Lily didn't understand and raised an eyebrow quizzically without saying a word.
Her confusion slowly turned into hesitation as the old woman laughed. "At this age, do you still think I don't know what you're up to? I know what you want.
I'm not going to send you away with a large sum of money. You're smart. You know how much you'd get from tagging along with Alexander. However..."
She paused, and her lips curled into a proud smile. "You have no idea about our family rules. Even if you married Alexander, you wouldn't get a single cent
of our family property. In the future, if you give birth to a child, only the child will be entitled to our property. You're just a tool to carry on our family
bloodline."
