Chapter 764 Don’t Let Them Catch Us
Caridee shuddered slightly. The voice sounded familiar to her. She felt like she had heard it somewhere before but
couldn't quite recall where. Caridee slowly turned her around, her gaze falling upon the two young men behind her.
The sense of familiarity only grew stronger when she glanced at one of the men.
Realization dawned on her after a moment of silence. He was the man she had bumped into in the club's corridor
the other day. The man had tried to drag her into a private room to take advantage of her, but she managed to
break free from his grasp and escape.
What a small world! I never thought we'd bump into each other at the International Socialite Club. Scum like him is
simply not worthy of attending such a refined party.
“Sorry, you've mistaken me for someone else.”
Having said that, Caridee turned around and prepared to leave. Astrid subconsciously turned her head and her
gaze met with Tucker's. She quickly turned to look back when she noticed the look he was giving her.
“Caridee, I...” Caridee was determined to get away from the pervert and did not notice the change in Astrid's
emotions.
“Let's hurry up and leave before that scum catches up with us. There are many reporters around here. We'll be in
big trouble if they managed to take photos of us,” the former said anxiously.
Astrid bit her lip and the guilt in her eyes grew increasingly intense. She really wanted to give Caridee some hints,
hoping she would take the initiative to leave the venue. However, she was also worried that Tucker would find out
and get the Adley family involved in the end.
I'm sorry, Caridee. If something truly happens to you tonight, please don't blame me. I have no other choice.
Shaun saw the two women about to enter the elevator and quickly ordered the bodyguard nearby, “Stop the
woman in the sky-blue dress for me.”
The bodyguard hummed in response, but before he could take a step, Tucker immediately raised his hand to stop
him. Upon seeing him block the bodyguard's way, Shaun's face darkened.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtNarrowing his eyes, he asked, “What's the meaning of this, Mr. Tucker? Didn't we agree earlier that after you've
dealt with this woman, you'd send her to my bed? We agreed to cooperate immediately, and now she's right under
my nose. What's the reason for not letting me catch her?”
Tucker smiled faintly, a sly glint flashing across his eyes.
“Yeah, I promised to bring her to your bed previously. Of course, I'd keep my word. However, I've arranged a lively
and vivid performance for you, Mr. Carter. Are you sure you don't want to watch it?” Shaun raised his eyebrows,
seemingly figuring things out. He suddenly chuckled.
“What do you mean, Mr. Tucker?” Tucker patted him on the shoulder with a mysterious expression on his face.
“We're both men, so you should be able to guess what I'm thinking. This is something that cannot be expressed.”
“Haha, all right, all right. This is getting interesting, very interesting indeed! Well then, I'll be looking forward to it,
and I hope it'll satisfy me, Mr. Tucker.”
“Of course, Mr. Carter. This way, please.”
“Sure.”
After Caridee and Astrid entered the banquet hall, they tried to find a seat in the corner and sat down.
Upon seeing her cautious demeanor, Astrid couldn't help but laugh and said, “So many women around the world
fantasize about being the legitimate daughter of the Luther family. But look at you! You wished for nothing more
than to remove that label from yourself and not let anyone notice. What? Is being the little princess of the Luther
family that unbearable?”
Caridee sighed softly and lowered her voice when she spoke, “I've always been low-key, as it's the family tradition
of the Luther family. Many generations in my family have been like this, and I cannot go against the teachings of my
ancestors. After all, what's the point of having more honor and respect? It's all given by our predecessors. The day
we earn it ourselves is when we truly have the ability. Just look at Bailey. People don't respect her simply because
she's about to become the matriarch of the Luther family. Instead, it's her own astonishing talent that has earned
her countless admirers and the respect of many powerful figures.”
“Well, that's true, I—”
Just as Astrid was about to praise Bailey, she suddenly felt her phone vibrate in her bag.
“Caridee, I'm going to the restroom. Don't wander off and stay right here. Otherwise, I'm afraid I won't be able to
find you in such a huge venue.”
“All right. Go ahead.”
With that, Astrid left to the restroom with her bag in hand.
After closing the door, she finally took out her phone from her bag. Upon taking a look at it, Astrid realized it was a
call from Tucker. She fell silent in an instant. When her phone rang again, she nervously swiped over the answer
button.
“M-Mr. Tucker—”
Before she could finish her sentence, Tucker ordered, “You must complete the task before the party begins. Do you
hear me?”
He had other plans in mind, intending to make the scandal of Shaun and Caridee being in bed together known to
everyone before the banquet began. In this way, Shaun would be targeted by the entire Luther family.
When the time comes, he'd be too overwhelmed to cope and will definitely come begging for help. Once that
happens, I won't have to worry about having a hard time anymore.
Astrid's hand trembled, and her phone slipped right out of her palm, falling onto the cold floor with a soft thud.
She stayed stunned for quite a while before hurriedly picking up her phone.
“I-I'm sorry, I accidentally bumped into the door just now and dropped my phone. M-Mr. Tucker, is it really
necessary to do this? She's from the Luther family! If her reputation is ruined today, I'm afraid it will cause quite a
stir...”
“What's this? Are you trying to bargain with me at such a critical moment? Don't you want the Adley family to
establish a firm foothold in Moranta? Ms. Adley, you should understand one thing. I don't necessarily need you to
drug the drink. There are so many waiters at the party. I could easily bribe one of them. Don't you think that would

“I-I know, so I won't break my promise. Please don't harm my family. I agree to drug her. J-Just wait to hear from
me.”
No matter how important friends were, they could never outweigh the significance of one's parents and close
family members. Hence, Astrid had no choice but to sacrifice Caridee. After hanging up, she leaned against the
wall, taking her time to gradually calm her restless emotions.
I'm sorry, Caridee!
Meanwhile, a private jet slowly descended at a private airport, and moments later, the plane's door opened. A man
wearing a black trench coat emerged, surrounded by a group of bodyguards.
“Mr. Veikko.”
“Mr. Veikko.” Greetings echoed one after another from down below. Veikko didn't pay them any attention and
instead turned his head toward the black-clad bodyguard beside him.
“Have you found her whereabouts yet?” he asked in a low voice.
The bodyguard nodded and said, “Ms. Caridee has gone to the International Socialite Club, and I have also found
out that another person related to you attended the party.”
“Who?”
“The head of the Carter family, Shaun.”
Veikko's footsteps suddenly halted, his sharp gaze falling upon the bodyguard. His thin lips slightly parted, and he
coldly uttered three words, “Are you sure?”
“Yes. He appeared together with Mr. Tucker from the Hoffman family.”
The moment the bodyguard finished speaking, the atmosphere around Veikko suddenly dropped. A dense,
murderous aura began to spread in all directions. In an instant, all the bodyguards on both sides lowered their
heads, not even daring to take a breath. Veikko stood at the cabin door for a moment before striding toward the
stairs.
“Get the car ready. We're heading to the International Socialite Club.”
