Chapter 432
Larissa had not even begun to reject the offer when Dylan scooped Aster into his arms, turning around
and speeding away with haste. He ignored every shout of Larissa’s. With the way he acted, one would
think he was a child trafficker or something.
Though Larissa was annoyed, she could not do anything to Dylan. Spitting curses internally, she ran
after him. Kevan matched his pace to hers.
Larissa did not want to talk to him, and Kevan had to do his best to pretend that they were not familiar
with each other. They remained silent, and only the sound of footsteps could be heard.
Dylan drove them to a private dining restaurant that was not far from where they were. Unlike other
widespread restaurants in which anyone could dine, this was a restaurant with a strict member-only
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtsystem. Moreover, even if one was a member, one had to make a booking at least a day before the day
of dining and decide the course with the chel.
Dylan had clearly made a booking early on. He gave his name, and the waiter led them to a private
room. The decor here had a colonial style, probably because the mansion rented by the restaurant
belonged to some general in the colonial era.
Dylan and Aster sat together. They kept chatting without stopping-naturally engaging in topics that
Aster was interested in
Aster was a fan of superheroes. Although he was young and did not know a lot of words, he had seen
and read many superhero comics and movies. His favorite superhero was Superman. From a young
age, he loved wearing the red cape Larissa bought for him and darting about the house, shouting about
how he was going to defeat the bad guys. He could even memorize the plot of the Superman comics.
However, the other kids this age-regardless of where they were from, were not interested in
superheroes. They preferred SpongeBob or Peppa Pig. It was only after meeting with Dylan that Aster
was able to broach the subject with another person,
Dylan was only a casual fan of superheroes. He would watch any movies that were screened in
cinemas and was aware of the world- building of the superhero universe as well as the superheroes’
relationships with each other. But he was not necessarily well-versed about everything. As he chatted
with Aster, he immediately noticed how meager his knowledge was. In order to not embara ss himsell,
Dylan changed the subject. “Aster, do you like superhero figurines?”
Aster excitedly nodded. “Yes! I really love them!” But they were too expensive, so he could not bear to
make Larissa buy them for him.
Pointing at Kevan, Dylan said smugly, “Uncle Kevan’s home has a lot! Next time he can take you there
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmfor a look!”
Larissa frowned. “Don’t lie to a kid” She knew that Kevan did not have any superhero figurines at home
“He’s not lying.” Kevan spoke up. He was watching her quietly, his eyes lilled with sincerity.
Dylan explained. “The figurines arent at Kevan’s current residence. It’s normal that you have not seen
them. Those were his childhood joys. It was probably because he thought that they were shameful to
have, so he dumped them all in a property that he did not live in.”
Larissa, however, had a thought. She asked Kevan. “How do you remember things from the past?”
Kevan and Dylan froze for two seconds. But as they had experienced much in life, they did not show
how panicked they were. Kevan spoke calmly. “I’ve been to all my properties in Bartham-to understand
just how many assets I had.”
This reason did not give Larissa cause to suspect him. The only thing she thought of was how tired he
must have been to go to every single property of his in the city! This was probably a rich person’s
problem
Because of what Dylan said. Aster turned his attention to Kevan at once.
