Chapter 520
Larissa froze in her tracks.
She thought Kevan had already left, but with so many variables in between, it was highly likely that he
was persuaded by Aster to stay.
She sighed inwardly and resumed walking.
As she approached them. Aster ran up to her in a few steps and held her hand.
His little lace was flushed, his nose covered in sweat, and his big, bright eyes were filled with a smile.
“Why are you so late? His tone carried a hint of reproach. “Daddy and I have been waiting for you for a
long time!”
He deliberately emphasized the word “daddy.” speaking loud enough for everyone around to hear. The
gazes they received stunned Larissa–especially when she noticed that most of those gazes were filled

She lowered her head, forcing herself to smile as she silently wished to disappear. They quickly
returned to where Kevan was.
As soon as Larissa met Kevan’s gaze, she noticed the remorse in his eyes.
“I’m sorry,” Kevan said. “I didn’t feel at ease leaving Aster alone. I intended to wait until you arrived
before leaving, but you were late, and i thought something had come up and you couldn’t make it…”
Ultimately, this was Larissa’s own fault, and she had no right to blame anyone.
“Now that you’re here, I leave now.” Kevan touched Aster’s head and softly instructed, “Have fun with
Mommy.”
There was a hint of melancholy on his face, subtle but keenly captured by Larissa.
A thought flashed through her mind, and she blurted out, “Since we’re all here, let’s play together!”
Kevan looked surprised, and Larissa turned her face away immediately, not used to meeting his gaze
directly.
“Yay!” Aster was the happiest among them. He held Larissa’s hand with one hand and Kevan’s hand
with the other, grinning ear to ear.
Considering the limited patience of children aged 3 to 6, the opening ceremony went by quickly. The
principal and the teachers–in–charge gave speeches that didn’t exceed five minutes combined.
The event utilized a point collection system. All the events took place simultaneously in different areas
of the sports field, and parents accompanied their children to choose which events to participate in–
based on their physical strengths and interest, they could choose
which events to participate in.
Each child held a small booklet that had been distributed in advance. After completing an event, the
referee would stamp the booklet to
record the station and the corresponding points.

accumulated points. The familles of the top three winners would not only appear on the award podium
but also receive valuable mysterious gifts.
Larissa wasn’t interested in sports. From childhood to adulthood, physical education was always a
subject that dragged her down. Every
time there was a physical education test, she could only barely pass.
Hence, she never thought about winning anything. On the other hand, the two guys beside her were
both pumped up, and their passionate display of enthusiasm frightened Larissa.
“We must get first place!” Aster shouted, raising his fist in the air,
Kevan immediately echoed, “First place will definitely be ours!
Larissa had no idea where their confidence came from.
The number of students in this kindergarten wasn’t small. There were many students taller and
stronger than Aster, and many parents
taller and stronger than her and Kevan.
