Chapter 110

Denise was taken aback.

She jokingly asked, "Are you planning to open a coffee shop or something?"

Harvey, comfortably leaning against his leather chair, leisurely sipped his coffee. After a while, he finally spoke,

"Actually, it's Eloise who wants to open a music studio."

Denise thought back to the bills she had just looked at, realizing that this couple was up to something.

Harvey Horigan was really a smooth talker!

Denise quickly did sresearch and then said, "You don't have a 200 square meter shop, but you do have a

400 square meter office space on Peace Avenue. It's well decorated and currently vacant."

"Perfect! Locate the keys for me."

Harvey thought for a moment and then said, "Also, bringthe latest clothing and jewelry catalogs for the

season."

Denise was taken aback.

She had never seen Harvey go to such lengths to woo a woman. He was always generous, but this was the first

the was putting in so much effort.

Denise left, and Harvey continued sipping his coffee.

He was very fond of Eloise and enjoyed her company. He thought as long as he put in a bit of effort, he could

cultivate a wonderful relationship, and it was worth it.

He selected a batch of expensive clothes and jewelry and instructed to have them delivered to the apartment by

Saturday.

Once done, he went off to a meeting.

By the tHarvey finished his work, it was already 11 PM, and his driver drove him back to the apartment.

Eloise was still awake, sitting on the carpet in front of the sofa in her pajamas, with scattered reports all over the

coffee table.

When Harvey cback, she cleared up the reports.

"I made slate-night snacks. Do you want some?"

Harvey took off his coat, casually threw it on the back of the sofa, and then shared

a passionate kiss with her.

After a while, he said in a hoarse voice, "I'll take a shower first, then eat."

Eloise thoughtfully prepared his pajamas for him. After he cout from the shower, she checked his

temperature again.

Thankfully, the temperature had dropped to 38 degrees.

"Drink more water. You should feel better by tomorrow." Eloise said with a smile.

Harvey enjoyed her care, feeling utterly comfortable. While they were eating, he suddenly asked, "Did you take

care of Max like this before?"

Eloise was taken aback.

But before she could say anything, Harvey interrupted her.

He smiled, “Just a random thought."

Eloise felt there was nothing to hide; she gently replied, "When two people are together, they naturally take care

of each other."

"And after breaking up?"

Eloise, resting her chin on her hand, gently traced his nose with her slender fingers, thinking to herself that he

was so handsome.

Eloise honestly told him, "There's no need to care for each other after breaking

up."

She thought for a moment, then added, "It's better if we don't contact each other."

Eloise thought this was what Harvey wanted to hear. She told the truth, but Harvey didn't seem to be pleased.

He frowned but didn't say anything.

That night, Harvey only kissed her for a while and didn't do anything else. Eloise thought he might be too tired.

But by morning, Harvey shattered her thoughts.

He went for a morning run as soon as his fever subsided. Eloise didn't laze around in bed either and got up to

make breakfast. Then the doorbell rang.

Eloise thought Harvey might have forgotten his keys and went to open the door without a second thought.

Outside, a classy lady was standing.

She was dressed in designer clothes, with a driver by her side, who was holding sexpensive gifts.

This lady was Harvey's mother, Pauline Horigan. Seeing Eloise made Pauline incredibly joyful.

Pauline had heard from Orlena that Harvey was living with someone, but she didn't believe it until she saw Eloise

with her own eyes.

Compared to Pauline's joy, Eloise seemed a bit nervous. She greeted her with a "ma'am" and invited her in.

Pauline had the gifts brought in by the driver and let him go, fearing he might make Eloise uncomfortable.

Pauline sat on the sofa, sipping the mint tea Eloise had prepared for her, her eyes fixed on her.

This girl looked really good!

The place had changed significantly, showing that the two had been living together for a while.

Pauline asked Eloise to sit and casually asked a few questions.

Eloise knew that Pauline had misunderstood her relationship with Harvey, but she didn't correct her because she

was indeed living with Pauline's son.

Deep down, Pauline was praying, hoping God would bless them to get married before Harvey turned 30.

She already considered Eloise as her future daughter-in-law in the conversation and even invited her to Orlena's

birthday party. Eloise couldn't refuse because of her enthusiasm, but then Harvey cback.

He saw the stack of gift boxes in the living room and his mother.

Harvey calmly asked, "Mom, what brings you here?"

Pauline looked at her son warmly and said, “I heard from Denise that you were not well, so | brought sgifts

to check on you. | didn't expect you to have someone taking care of you. Now | can rest assured."

Pauline subtly hinted to her son that this girl was a keeper.

Harvey glanced at Eloise, who seemed a bit uneasy.

He placated his mother, "We have to go to work in a bit. You better head back. |

saw Wade waiting for you downstairs."

But how could Pauline leave so easily after finally meeting her "future daughter-in- law"?

She took off her Chanel coat and expensive watch and gently said, "Then you and Eloise hurry and get ready. I'll

make breakfast. After breakfast, you can go to work."

Harvey grabbed a towel to wipe the sweat off his face and looked at Eloise again. Eloise looked very

uncomfortable.

He laughed and said, "Alright then." And then he took Eloise into the master bedroom.

After closing the door, he joked, "My mom hasn't cooked in ages. You've inspired her today."

Eloise nibbled her lip nervously.

She'd figured out why Pauline was so happy and reminded him, "She seems to

have gotten the wrong idea about us, thinking I'm your girlfriend."

Harvey wrapped his arm around her slender waist and then kissed her.

He rested his forehead against hers and asked softly, "Aren't you?"

Eloise lifted her head, her eyes full of tenderness.

She murmured, "I... I'm not."

Harvey gently kissed the corner of her mouth and said, "I don't have a wife, I'm not seeing any other woman, we

sleep in the sbed every night, we've had our moments, Eloise, wouldn't those make us boyfriend and

girlfriend?"

This man's logic was impeccable, and his lawyer credentials were definitely not for show.

Eloise was speechless, her cheeks turning a slight shade of pink in frustration.

"I don't want to lie to your mom."

Harvey chuckled lightly.

He carefully opened the door and whispered into Eloise's ear, "Then let's go tell her right now that we're just

lovers, living together for now, and if we ever stop enjoying this lifestyle, we'll go our separate ways. Eloise, are

you willing to tell her that?"

"You're such a jerk!"

Just as Harvey was about to say something, Pauline's gentle voice cfrom the living room, "Harvey, Eloise,

are you guys dressed yet?"

Pauline was over the moon becoming a mother-in-law for the first time.

She gently knocked on the door, but before she could touch it, the door swung

open.

Her son, who was never keen on marriage, was pressing a young woman onto

the sofa, kissing her passionately...

Pauline blushed.

Harvey sure knew how to let loose.
