When Brittany came back to Imperial City, it was the height of summer. Three months later, the city was already
deep into autumn, as if it had transitioned overnight.
The road outside the studio was lined with trees.
Brittany stepped out of the studio after a busy day of work, only to find a black luxury car parked outside.
The car door opened, and Joseph was in the back seat, holding a dagger with its sharp tip exposed.
“Ms. Dustin, have you moved recently?”.
Brittany looked at Joseph, her eyes wary. “What are you up to this time, Mr. Joseph? Planning to wreck my studio?”
His tactics were low, so she had to be on guard at all times.
Joseph leaned against the leather seat. “Ms. Dustin, do me a favor, will you?”
I don’t think we’re that close.” Brittany cut him off.
I’m getting engaged soon, and I want you to design the engagement jewelry.”

“No can do.” Joseph shook his head. “A week is too long. I can give you three days at most.”

Brittany pursed her lips. “Mr. Joseph, let’s talk inside.”
She had refused the acquisition proposal and was now an enemy of Joseph’s. If she refused to cooperate now, she
was afraid that Joseph would harm those around her.
She couldn’t afford any losses.
Joseph was pleased with her cooperation and walked into the studio.
Kari hadn’t left yet. After seeing Joseph, she instinctively wanted to go over.
But Tina stopped her. They couldn’t afford to offend Joseph lightly.
Kari bit her lip, hating her inability to fight against Joseph.
When Isaac heard that Joseph had gone to see Brittany, his expression grew serious. “What’s Joseph doing with
her?”
“He’s getting engaged soon, and he wants Ms. Dustin to take on the design work.”
Nathan was also at a loss. What was Joseph up to?
He was putting pressure on Brittany while also giving her orders, which was hard to understand.

Isaac thought about Brittany’s wrecked home and rubbed his temples. He had to deal with the Palmer family issue
soon, so he could relax.
Two hours later, Brittany saw Joseph out.
Before leaving, Joseph turned his head and said, “Ms. Dustin, about the acquisition, I’m giving you a month to think
it over.”
Brittany gave him a slight smile..
After Joseph left, Kari came over. “Brittany, what’s Joseph trying to do?”
“He wants me to draw a design.”
After thinking about Joseph’s long list of demands, Brittany rubbed her temples, feeling a headache coming on.
She wasn’t confident that she would be able to draw a design that satisfied him in three days.
