Chapter 812

That shop did serve delicious afternoon tea.

Brittany shook her head, “No thanks.”

The employee didn’t press further.

Brittany found Isaac after he wrapped up some business talk. Setting aside his

paperwork, he scooped her up in his arms and placed her on the edge of the desk.

Propping himself up beside her with his hands, he suggested, “How about we drop Daniel

off at the Salter Manor tonight and go out for a date?”

Her cheeks flushed with a rosy tint, “You plan it.”

Though they had known each other for years, their actual time spent together was

surprisingly little, and dates were even rarer.

“Alright, tonight I’ll take you to a private screening room.”

Isaac’s hand caressed Brittany’s waist. Ever since they had reconciled, he was like a wolf

who’d rediscovered the taste for meat, wanting to be near her every chance he got.

If only work weren’t so demanding.

Brittany missed him too. Her arms reaching for his neck, leaning in for a kiss.

Isaac was taken aback but pleasantly surprised. He grasped the back of her head,

deepening the kiss passionately!

Their tongues tangled.

Sweetness exchanged.

Breath hot and fervent.

His warm hand slipped beneath her blouse, revealing a sliver of her pale midriff.

Just then, the office door swung open.

Isaac quickly pulled Brittany into his embrace, shooting a cold glance at the intruder, “Get

out!”

“Bro Isaac… I’m sorry, I didn’t realize Ms. Dustin was here…”

Joie stood at the door, her eyes brimming with tears, holding pastries and a latte.

Brittany, her moment ruined, was slightly irked

She straightened her clothes and stepped away from Isaac, “Joie?”

“I’ve started working at the company.”

Joie looked as though she’d seen a ghost, cautiously explaining, “If Ms. Dustin minds, I can

resign right away.”

Despite Brittany not recalling ever expressing any annoyance, Joie seemed quite

unsettled. Brittany could sense that Joie was playing the innocent again.

“Who said you could enter the CEO’s office without knocking?”

Isaac’s patience with Joie was wearing thin.

Joie stammered, “Bro Isaac, I’m sorry, I just wanted to bring you some snacks…”

Brittany narrowed her eyes, realizing this was the new colleague from the marketing

department.

“Take your things and remember to knock next time.”

Joie, eyes red, left the room.

Isaac didn’t want Brittany to worry, “She submitted her resume on her own; I didn’t help

her.”

Brittany covered Isaac’s lips with her hand, “I know, you wouldn’t do that.”

Isaac inherently despised nepotism and wouldn’t make exceptions, not even for Joie.

He held her hand, “She once helped Grandma, couldn’t be too harsh. I’m sorry to you and

Daniel…”

“As long as you don’t assist her, it’s fine.”

Brittany didn’t see Joie as a threat; even if she lingered around Isaac, she couldn’t stir up

trouble.

It actually gave Brittany an opportunity!

After staying in the company for two hours, Brittany was ready to leave.

The entire marketing department buzzed with rumors about how Joie tried to bring Mr.

Salter a snack, only to return teary-eyed. Many speculated that Brittany had given her a

hard time.

On her way out, Brittany overheard their gossip and was annoyed.

Joie’s acting skills, honed in the entertainment industry, were Oscar-worthy.

The group was startled mid-discussion as Brittany raised an eyebrow, “Joie was scolded for

not knocking, not because I made things difficult for her.”

“Ms. Dustin…”

They turned pale with fear.

Joie stood among them, biting her lip in a display of sorrow.

Approaching, Brittany remarked, “If you’re part of the company, it’s important to adhere

to our policies. Please avoid entering the CEO’s office without proper authorization moving

forward.”

“Understood, Ms. Dustin,” Joie replied, with a look of restrained endurance in her eyes,

drawing sympathy from her colleagues.

Brittany added with a disarming smile, “And, Zakky doesn’t like sweet food, so no need to

bring those anymore. Why not give them to the director instead?”

Joie’s cheeks flushed a deep crimson.
