“There’s an abandoned chemical plant on the west side of the city. I’ve looked into the usage of the land, but the
paperwork is a bit of a headache.” Wesley frowned. “Besides, buying that land would cost a fortune, and I can’t
afford to throw that much money around.”
So he thought of Isaac, hoping for a joint venture.
“I’d like to see the files.”
Wesley had come prepared and handed over the documents. As Isaac was going through them, he pulled out his
phone and texted Viola.
[Come over with your daughter tonight. Let’s have dinner together.]
Viola shot back at light speed, [No way.]
Why should she bother when she had a new partner and was still tangled up with her ex?
[If you refuse, I’m going to find Bruce right now.]

Wesley could almost picture her reluctant but resigned expression, and a smirk flickered in his eyes.
That smirk made Isaac uneasy. “You’re looking way too crafty.”
Wesley put down his phone. “Are you done?”
“This project does look promising, but the initial investment would be billions.” Isaac thought it was too much to
dump in at the outset. If there was no profit, they’d end up losing money.
“Just chill; if we team up on this, there won’t be any issues with the land.”
They’d partnered up plenty of times, and Wesley didn’t expect answe.
“I’ll look into this project. If it’s profitable, we can continue to talk.”
Wesley knew Isaac had ambitions. Who wouldn’t be interested in such a big development opportunity?
“Shona Bennett’s getting hitched; aren’t you going?”
News of Shona’s wedding had spread, and Isaac had already received an invitation,
“I’ll attend.”
“Let’s go together.”
Isaac had another meeting, so he got up and left.
Regarding the chemical plant project, Nathan did a thorough investigation and found it indeed profitable.
Isaac and Wesley struck a partnership deal. For the land, they contacted many people, and after several rounds of
negotiation, they had a preliminary plan.
The day before Shona’s wedding.
Brittany received a message from Isaac, [Shona’s getting married. Be my date?]
He needed a plus one.
Brittany owed him a favor, so she agreed. [Understood.]
After texting back, she went to pick up Daniel from school..
“William!”
Daniel immediately spotted the man standing not far away.
Brittany was surprised to see William. “William, what brings you here?”

“How are you feeling now?”
“Much better.” Brittany smiled. “Are you free tonight? How about dinner?”
William shook his head and said, “I’m swamped at work and have a dinner to attend. Glad you’re okay.”
William greeted Daniel and even brought a gift.
Daniel was torn. He really liked William, who was kind and treated him well.
But if he and his mom got together, then his dad would be alone!
Caught between a rock and a hard place, Daniel was unsure how to respond to William’s kindness. He said, “Thank
you, William.”
Back home, after a long hesitation, Daniel told Isaac, “Dad, will William be with mom?”
Looking at his son’s face, Isaac said sternly, “No. I promise you that your mom and I will always be together.”
Daniel was still upset. He asked, “What about William?”
William was actually a really nice guy!
