Chapter 702

Brittany brewed two cups of warm milk, carrying them over to Daniel.

Daniel hadn’t slept well the previous night. He had spent the entire morning keeping a close eye on Isaac, and

then, feeling a bit helpless, he clung to Brittany’s hand. “Mom, is Dad going to die?”

His voice was barely a whisper, his eyes rimmed with red.

Brittany, seeing the red in his eyes, crouched down beside him. “No, honey. Dad’s going to be all right.”

Daniel didn’t seem interested in the milk. His eyes were fixated on Isaac.

Brittany knew if things continued that way, it would have spelled trouble.

She took a sip of her milk and dialed Lionel’s number. “Bro, you know that private jet you own? Could you bring it

over?”

Lionel hadn’t expected Isaac to run off to the suburbs at such a time, so he agreed immediately. “Sure, I’ll arrange

it right away.”

After she hung up, Brittany looked for Wesley. “Take your guys and wait. The Chester family will be here soon. You

need to get him out of here.”

Wesley frowned. “You borrowed a private jet from the Chester family?”

He had considered buying one himself before but had ultimately decided against it due to its impracticality.

Brittany’s face was stern. “If we don’t get him out of here, he’ll die and I won’t have it on my conscience.”

Wesley chuckled. “Brittany, you do care about him.”

“You’re imagining things.” Brittany looked into Wesley’s eyes, trying to keep her facade of indifference. “I just don’t

want my son to be upset.”

She turned around and left.

Lionel’s assistant soon arrived and after exchanging greetings with Brittany, Isaac was brought onto the plane.

Daniel also boarded the plane. Brittany had initially planned to stay a bit longer, but fearing that Daniel would be

upset on his own, she decided to accompany him. Once Wesley got on the plane, he was immediately on the

phone. It seemed he was genuinely busy.

After all, he had a stake in the chemical plant that was then causing him a headache!

Brittany took a seat by the window while Daniel and Isaac huddled together. The doctor gave Isaac another dose of

fever reducer, but there was still no sign of his fever subsiding.

Upon reaching Imperial City, Isaac was rushed to PrimeCare Hospital, with Nathan already waiting there.

Wesley wanted to accompany them, but he was swamped with work. He turned to Brittany. “The Salter family is

currently preoccupied, with Grace Salter still at the hospital. I can’t spare any time for Zac. Could you accompany

him to the hospital?”

He still had the chemical plant issue to deal with. He couldn’t afford any further losses.

Brittany massaged her temples. “Wesley, I’ve already done more than enough.”

She had gotten them back, and then she was supposed to look after them at the hospital? What was that all about?

“Brittany, considering how well he treated you before, could you do this favor for me, please?”

Brittany gritted her teeth. “All right.”

So, she went to the hospital, while Wesley plunged into another round of work.

Isaac was admitted to the hospital and underwent a complete body checkup. The results were alarming. His severe

fever had led to unconsciousness.

Furthermore, his chronic alcoholism had led to a relapse of his gastritis.

His condition was much worse than it appeared

Nathan managed to keep Isaac’s hospitalization under wraps. As he was still dealing with the aftermath, he had no

choice but to leave Brittany at the hospital. Once at the hospital, Isaac was given another dose of fever reducer and

put on an IV. Finally, there were signs of his fever subsiding. Daniel breathed a sigh of relief, curling up on the bed

next to his father, and fell asleep.

Brittany watched the father and son, and a trace of melancholy flashed across her eyes.

She wanted to take Daniel and leave, but she couldn’t bring herself to do it.

Forget it. They were father and son, after all. She couldn’t have been too harsh.

Knock, knock, knock.

The sound of knocking brought her out of her thoughts. She opened the door to find the attending doctor.

“Ms Dustin, we’ve drawn blood from Mr. Salter for testing. We found traces of alprazolam and eszopiclone, among

other drugs. We suggest that once Mr. Salter regains consciousness, he should see a specialist in sleep disorders.”

Both of these drugs were used to treat sleep disorders.

Was he suffering from a sleep disorder?
