Upon receiving the news, Shona rushed to her side. Since her marriage, Shona had been contently pregnant and
nesting at home.
Upon reaching the hospital, she found the doctors examining Brittany.
The long exposure to the chill of the freezer had greatly depleted Brittany’s strength. After a thorough checkup, the
doctors recommended Brittany be admitted for treatment.
After waiting for the doctors to leave, Shona approached Brittany’s bedside. “I’m sorry I’m late.”
Brittany was leaning against the headboard as her left hand pressed against the bandage from a recent blood test.
Her pale face was worn with exhaustion. “Ms. Bennett, I’m sorry to have you come all the way here.”
Shona, heavy with child, found it inconvenient to stand.

“Even if Mr. Salter hadn’t blocked the news back then, Leda wouldn’t have donated her kidney. Mr. Salter tried his
best to help your grandmother find a kidney source, but no one expected that kind of accident.”
The person directly responsible for Donna’s death was Robert. Isaac was not innocent in this matter, but Shona felt
that he had done his best to make amends.
Brittany remained silent. It seemed that she had taken in what Shona said.
Three hours after Shona left the hospital, Brittany pressed the call button.
“Ms. Dustin, do you need anything?” The nurse rushed over, fearing that Brittany was feeling unwell.

Knowing Brittany’s status, the nurse didn’t dare delay and swiftly prepared a wheelchair and assisted Brittany out of
bed.

The Salter family was waiting outside.
Grace looked haggard. It seemed she had been informed about Isaac’s condition the moment it happened and
hadn’t slept a wink since.
After hearing the sound of the wheelchair, Grace instinctively looked up and quickly approached Brittany.
“Bri, why are you here? How are you feeling now?”
After seeing the concern on Grace’s face, Brittany/felt a bit dazed.
Ever since Joie’s appearance, there had been a rift between her and Grace. Even though Grace tried to mend their
relationship after their reunion, Brittany couldn’t let go of the grudge.
