Chapter 232
She was momentarily stunned, and then a blush crept across her face. “I-I…”
Rosalie suddenly did not know how to answer. It seemed wrong to say yes or no.
“Don’t say no!” Jonathan firmly embraced Rosalie and told her, “If I do have children, it will only be with you, Rosie.
You’ll be the only one I want as their mother.”
Rosalie’s face turned even redder. “This is a hospital.” Besides, people were moving all around them. With him
holding her like that, some onlookers had already cast curious glances in their direction.
“So what?” His lips approached her ear, and his breath swept on her ears and neck. “Rosie, do you understand
what I just said?”
Rosalie’s body involuntarily shivered. His voice and breath felt like an irresistible enchantment, causing her to nod in
response without thinking.
Even after getting in the car, Rosalie’s face remained flushed.
Jonathan was driving. She could not help but glance at him while she sat in the passenger seat.
From her perspective, seeing his side face with its distinct contours, deep-set eyes, and high and straight nose
made his face look far more stereoscopical than the average. His facial features, jawline, and neckline seemed to
be perfectly crafted in
every way.
“What will it be like if we have children together?” That thought filled her mind at that moment.
“Do you like staring at me so much?” Jonathan suddenly said, his voice resounding in Rosalie’s ear and interrupting

“Ah!” She abruptly realized she had been staring at him absentmindedly just now. Rosalie felt embarrassed and a
little lost when her phone suddenly rang. She quickly picked up her phone and saw it was a call from Lillian.
She pressed the answer button, and Lillian’s voice came through from the other end of the phone. “Rosie, do you
have a moment to talk?”
“Yes, I do,” Rosalie quickly answered. She had to thank Lillian for calling her at that moment so she could avoid the
awkward jiff just now.
“When are you free? We should go to Sloummont as soon as possible. That witness from back then is currently
detained at the police station. Callum said he had a way to get some information out of that person. He wanted to
know if you’d like to participate and take a look together,” Lillian informed her.
Rosalie was astounded. “Callum? Did you tell him I want to reverse the verdict?”
“Heehee! Because I think he has more connections than I do. So I asked him to help investigate the information
about someone with the surname Concord to see if we could find any leads. I forgot to mention it to you. Sorry,”
Lillian said.
“What are you apologizing for? You’re helping me,” Rosalie responded. In her opinion, Callum was not a helpful
person. She was aware that Lillian had to work hard to seek his help.
“When are you available? I’ll coordinate with Callum, but it’s better to do it quickly. The person with the surname
Concord is currently detained at the police station for only seven days,” Lillian advised.
“How about tomorrow?” Rosalie suggested.
“Tomorrow? Aren’t you still working tomorrow?” Lillian asked. Even though tomorrow was the weekend, Rosalie
seemed to have free time only on Saturday afternoon.
“The diner where I work is closed for a few days, so I’m free tomorrow. What about you? Are you available
tomorrow?” Rosalie asked.
“Of course.” Lillian continued, “Then tomorrow it is. I’ll pick you up tomorrow. I’ll inform Callum and let you know
once the time is confirmed.”
“Okay,” Rosalie answered.
When Rosalie put away her phone, she heard Jonathan question, “Is that Lillian on the phone?”
“Yes.”
“Why? Did she ask help from Callum to investigate your old case?” He asked.
“Not entirely true.” Rosalie added, “She just asked Callum to help me investigate something related to a witness in
Sloummont. She mentioned the witness is currently in detainment, so there may be a chance to get some
information from him. I’ll be heading to Sloummont tomorrow.”
Although Lillian did not explain in detail how they plan to do that, Rosalie had previously worked as a lawyer and was
familiar with some of the tactics involved.
Extracting information from someone detained in a prison was not an easy task. Given Lillian’s skills, it would be,
challenging for her to achieve it herself. It was probably Callum’s expertise at work again.
It was just that her matter made Lillian owe Callum a favor again.
“How much would Lillian have to sacrifice for me? And in the future, will I be able to repay her for this favor?”
Rosalie pondered heavily, not noticing the flicker in Jonathan’s eyes.
“I’ll go with you tomorrow,” Jonathan said.

“You’re my girlfriend, so it’s not troublesome at all. The decision is made. I’ll accompany you tomorrow,” Jonathan
uttered with great certainty.
His hand tightened slightly as he held the steering wheel, harboring a plan in his mind.
At night, when Lillian and Rosalie were on the phone to confirm the time, Rosalie said, “By the way, Jon… I mean
Jonathan wants to tag along.”
“What?” Lillian was confused. “He’s going! too?”
“Yes. Would that be inconvenient?” Rosalie asked.
“Not inconvenient, just an extra person. But… how about we use a single car for the trip instead of two? This way,
we can take turns driving when one of us gets tired.”
“Okay, I’ll tell him,” Rosalic responded. After finishing the call, she felt nervous.
She pondered, “Can I get the truth from the witness with the surname Concord tomorrow? Will I learn why the
witness accused me of drinking alcohol in the past and who tried to harm me?”
She could seek the truth for other people’s cases and help others fight their legal battles. However, in the end, she
could not find the truth for herself. How ironic and tragic that was.
On the other side, in the study at the Youngblood residence, Jonathan was speaking to Carlos, who had just arrived
there. “Make a trip to Sloummont. The police station there had detained a man with the surname Concord. He was
one of the witnesses in Rosie’s case from back then. Rosie will be meeting with this witness tomorrow. Make sure he
understands what he can and cannot say.”
“Noted,”-Carlos answered. He hesitated, then added, “Mr. Youngblood, don’t you plan to let Ms. Leighton uncover
the truth about what happened back then?”
