Chapter 462

| did not want to fall asleep because | was afraid | would dream of the scene of Matthew's death.

However, | was exhausted and drained.

Thus, when Theo walked out of the bathroom, | was already drifting off to sleep.

I no longer had any energy to push him away when he climbed into bed and clambered under the covers to hold

At five in the morning, | was startled awake by a nightmare. Theo was not beside me, and | picked up m y phone

from the bedside table to call Tyler after | calmed myself down slightly.

The phone rang seemingly forever before Tyler asked i n a hoarse voice, "Wandy, what's up?"

| took a deep breath. "Never mind, I'll text you."

| hung up the phone when I finished saying that.

After that, | typed out a long text message. The contents included Matthew's cause of death and also my request

for him to help keep an eye on Quinn.

When | heard the bedroom door opening, | put my phone down, lay back down, and pretended | had never

woken up.

The public was in an uproar when news of Matthew's death broke out.

Quinn could not avoid being brought into the limelight because of how the father, son, and wife had all died one

after the other in such a short period. Everyone was wondering if she was the one who killed them because she

wanted to get Zimmer Corporations for herself.

Of course, not only did Quinn have to face questions from the public but she also needed to be investigated by

the police.

She could not go to the Grant household or Grant Corporation. She was also being monitored by the police, so

she could not find another place to live. Thus, Quinn contacted Theo and requested to stay at his place.

Theo could not bring himself to refuse her. Thus, he suggested that we let her stay in the mansion for stime

while we went to stay somewhere else. | rejected that proposal. However, | only refused his suggestion to stay

somewhere else, not to the part about letting Quinn stay in our home.

| was very against seeing her, but it did not seem a bad idea to keep her nearwhere | could keep my eye on

her.

Quinn arrived after lunch. | glared at her and went upstairs to my bedroom without even saying hi to her.

| received a phone call from Heidi at about two in the

afternoon.

She wanted to meet up with me, and | got ready to leave the house after getting the address from her.

Quinn was sitting on the couch in the living room. She got up to walk towardwhen she sawcoming

downstairs. "Are you going out?"

Heidi usually only requested to meet withwhen she had an important discovery to tell me, which was why |

was in a rush to meet her. Besides, | did not feel like talking to Quinn, which was why | merely grunted an answer

before circling past her to leave. 1

However, it was obvious she was not going to letleave so easily when she got in my way again.

| narrowed my eyes and asked coldly, "What do you want?"

"Are you in such a rush to leave?" Quinn laughed coldly. "Matthew is already dead. Who are you in such a rush to

meet?"

My pupils narrowed slightly, and | resisted the urge to reach out and grab my hair. In a cold voice, | said, "I told

you this in the hospital before. I'll rip your mouth off your face if you ever utter Matthew's name. This is the first

time, so I'm just giving you a warning. I'll do a s | say if it ever happens again.”

Quinn's eyes widened in anger. "You wouldn't dare!"
