"Yeah, | noticed that too." Liz blinked. "I also noticed that you started looking uncomfortable after meeting Matt."
Anyone would be curious when a person who had turned to ashes suddenly showed up in front of you alive.
| suppressed all the emotions in my heart and chuckled bitterly. "Of course, I'm curious. You kept boasting about
how good Matt is when we were on the plane."
As soon as | said that, Liz's face turned red. "Wanda!"
I laughed. "Also, | look uncomfortable because | got caught in the rain at the airport and caught a cold. I'm
feeling a little under the weather."
After hearing what | said, Liz looked nervously at me. " Have you gone to see a doctor?"
| shook my head. "It's not serious. Taking medicine will do the trick."
"I'm sorry.” Liz felt a little apologetic. "I asked you out for dinner when you're feeling unwell."

| smiled. "It's an honor to have a meal with such a beautiful lady like you. I'm more than happy."
Liz planned to takeshopping after dinner, but she had to cancel the plan because | was not feeling well.
Liz put down her cutleries after eating. "We'll take you back to the hotel, Wanda.”
| shook my head. "No thanks, my husband is around here. He'll cand pickup later."
"Why don't you go and pay the bill?" Matt looked at Liz and suddenly said, "I'll take Miss Lane outside.”
Liz nodded and left obediently.
| pursed my lips, my countenance a little dull. | got up and quickly walked out of the restaurant. He followed
behindwithout a word.
When we got out of the restaurant, the phone in my pocket started ringing. | took out my phone and saw that it
was a call from Theo.
After picking up the phone, he said in a warm voice," When will you finish dinner? I'll go pick you up."
"I'll go back myself. You don't have to cover." | was worried that Theo would bump into Matt, so | did not
really want him to cand pickup.
There was momentary silence on the other end of the phone. He said in a low and restrained voice, "Alright, I'll
wait for you at the hotel.”
After hanging up the phone, | looked at the cars along the street with only one thought in my mind-1 needed to
get back to the hotel as soon as | could.
"It's hard to hail a cab in France. Why don't | just take you back to the hotel?" The man who was silent the whole
tspoke, his voice cold and indifferent.
| pursed my lips. "Thanks, but I'll manage."
The man sneered. "Wanda Lane, | can't believe you actually held back from asking anything. This isn’t how you
usually do things."

He was admitting that he was Matthew!
| had mixed feelings in my heart all of a sudden.
| just wanted to get out of this place right now to calm myself down.
Seeing that | refused to speak, Matt raised his eyebrows. "You seem angry?"
| squeezed my eyes shut for a moment. "Matthew, once there's deception between us, there's no way | can talk
to you nicely like we used to anymore."
Take now, for example. | really wanted to scream in his face for lying to everyone that he was dead when h e was
not.
No matter what explanation he gave, | might not be able to understand nor forgive him.
"Deception?" Matt sneered. "What did | do to deceive you?"
| did not want to speak to him. A cab was driving over and | waved. | got in and read out the hotel's address.
When Liz cout, the cab was already gone. | saw her frowning at Matt as if complaining about something.
