Arriving early at the dance studio, Hadley was greeted by Elissa, who pulled her into a tight hug. "Hadley!" "Elissa!" Hadley hugged her back, her voice bright with relief. "It's so good to see you're doing well!"
Elissa grinned. "Yes, I'm feeling much better! But there's something youn should know." She hesitated before continuing. "We won't be performing starting this weekend." Hadley's eyes widened. "What? How come? Who told you?" Her mind raced with worry about the upcoming shows.
"Didn't you check the bulletin board when you cin?" Elissa asked, a playful smirk tugging at her lips. "It was Ms. Nicolson's decision."
Blanche, the troupe leader, had made the difficult call to pause performances following the Blathe scandal which had left the group exhausted and demoralized. After much deliberation, the leadership agreed that a break was necessary to recover. Ding! Ding!
Both Hadley and Elissa's phones buzzed simultaneously, lighting up with a notification from their Om workgroup. Scanning the message, they read about the halted performances—but also the new tasks assigned to them.
