Everyone immediately turned their focus to Nimrod and the others. Nolan and Faye were seething with
rage. However, as much as they detested Skylar, they dared not show their anger.
Nimrod on the other hand felt humiliated as he looked incredibly bitter. It seemed that he had never
been questioned like this before, especially when Skylar was asking him about the consequences of
his actions.
The crowd seemed to be mocking him for his insolence. Suddenly, a woman’s voice could be heard
saying, “You should know when to stop, Skylar! Besides, Mr. Belmont is about the same age as
grandpa. What right do you have to speak to him like this?”
As everyone turned their attention to the voice, they could see Yvonne glaring at Skylar.
It seemed that she had thought things through. Even if Skylar was indeed more powerful than the
Shepard family, it was too late to make amends and even if she did, it would mean very little for her to
do so. Her best hope at the moment was Nolan.
While Nimrod remained silent, she decided that she needed to seize her opportunity to please Nimrod.
However, just as she was about to speak up for him, Nimrod glared at her and yelled, “Shut your d*mn
mouth up! You are in no position to speak here!”
It seemed that he only looked bitter because he was terrified that he had offended Skylar. He was

and built for centuries would be destroyed if that were to happen. That thought terrified him so much
that his legs were trembling.
So, he decided to cast away his pride and politely bowed to Skylar and said, “I’m really sorry for my
insolence, Mr. Stone. So, I hereby apologize to you.”
“What?” Yvonne was completely shocked when that happened.
Jeffery and the others were stunned for a moment before lowering their heads just like Nimrod as they
apologized to Skylar. “We’re sorry, Mr. Stone. We were foolish earlier and we hope you will be able to
forgive us.”
Just like everyone else, Nolan dared not act stubborn anymore.
