"Is this your work?" Yvette asked.
"Yes, it's what my boss assigned me," Xavier replied. His expression remained the same.
Yvette reflected on how Xavier used to review others' proposals, but now he had to draft them himself. Life could be so unpredictable. "Maybe you should talk to Shannon and ask her to assign you swork, or-" "Yvvy." Xavier interrupted her before she could finish. "From now on, we have nothing to do with the Lane family. You and I are a family." Yvette was momentarily speechless. She wasn't touched; instead, she reminded him, saying, "I moved back to Sangine County because the doctor said Viola's health is failing and she might not make it through the New Year.
"If Viola passes away, I'll leave this country. We'll go our separate ways sooner or later. We are not family." Xavier felt a pang in his chest at Yvette's last sentence. He'd thought that their ttogether had made her give up on the idea of divorce, but it turned out she hadn't changed her mind.

Today, she was meeting the mystery person Cynthia had mentioned.
Outside the hotel, a man and a woman stood by a black car.
The man in the black coat exuded a cold and stern demeanor. In contrast, the woman was dressed in a cute puffer jacket and Martin boots. She was holding two large bags of meat pies. Cynthia took a bite of a meat pie and offered one to Ray. "Want some?" Ray watched her puffed-up cheeks move like a rabbit's. "No, thank you." "That's a shame. If you don't eat, how will two ladies finish them all?" Before Ray could respond, he saw her stuff two more meat pies into her mouth. Within a minute, she'd finished an entire bag of meat pies.
"Can't waste food. I'll help boss eat a few more," Cynthia remarked.
Ray didn't say anything. He had a feeling that Yvette's breakfast would be gone if she took her tto cdown.
"Boss!" the sharp-eyed Cynthia called out and waved as she spotted Yvette.
Yvette walked over and took the remaining few meat pies from her. "Thank you." "Don't mention it. Let's get in the car; we're off to meet the client." Cynthia opened the car door for her.
Ray was already in the driver's seat, ready to go.
Cynthia didn't know who the mystery person was, but she knew he was wealthy and had arranged to meet in a top-tier private room at Sternhow Club. Given the system at the club, Yvette naturally wouldn't be able to reach that floor on her own.

"Mr. Jeremiah, she has arrived," Jackie announced. She glanced at Jeremiah, who was sitting in the private room playing chess alone. "The person who cin isn't Ms. Snyder." Jeremiah paused slightly, holding the black chess piece in his hand. "Does she still not want to see me?"
A few days ago, he'd sent Terrence to find Yvette. When she hadn't cto see him he'd realized the result, but he still couldn't accept it. During his tabroad, he'd constantly looked into Yvette whenever he'd been conscious. He'd found out that she was Cameron, so he'd gone to great lengths to meet her using that as an excuse.
Jackie closed the window and walked over. "I found out recently that O the company also wanted Ms.
N Snyder's compositions. However, she always sends her assistant. She's never shown up herself."
As they spoke, a waiter led Cynthia in. She immediately noticed the mam sitting in the inner most private room, his cold, dignified demeanor evident as he played chess.
