Carle’s chest tightened.
He was in denial. He knew the answer… But he just couldn’t bring himself to face the truth.

Holly sighed. Seeing that he was distressed about the entire thing, she decided to keep her thoughts to
herself. She patted him on the shoulder. “I won’t say another word. You need to relax. Don’t overthink
it.”
In the end, Holly still couldn’t tell him how she felt about it.

Linda gritted her teeth and glared at the phone. “There’s no smoke without fire. There might be some
exaggeration, but something must have happened!” She fumed.
She did not want to believe it, but the truth was staring her right in the face. She knew there was
something fishy going on!
Rose frowned and shook her head. “I don’t think so. His pride alone would prevent him from doing that.
Someone must have misconstrued things and made the rumor up. And as I said before, it’s more than
likely Elisa cooked up the whole thing.”
Linda’s features twisted into a grimace. “I believed in her. I trusted her when she said she lost faith in
Gareth and gave up on their relationship. And now, she’s going behind my back to get back together
with him!!!”
Rose sighed exasperatedly. “It doesn’t matter what they’re up to. Besides, didn’t you say you have
given up on him?”
Linda gripped her phone tightly in her hand. “I despise them. I want to claw their eyes out! But at the
same time, I’m still in love with him! Just the thought of him with another woman, even if it was made
